I’ve had the incredible opportunity of collaborating with impact-driven brand Sseko Designs. Sseko uses fashion to create opportunity and community for women around the world.
From their headquarters in Portland, OR, Sseko employs 63 women in Uganda. These women make beautiful, sustainable, handcrafted apparel, shoes, and accessories — all during their nine-month gap between high school and university. They save their earnings for University tuition, and Sseko matches it 300%.
I was honored to travel with Sseko on their annual trip to visit their coworkers in Uganda this past April. There we caught up with a few of the incredibly strong, intelligent, and charismatic women that have attended University despite financial and circumstantial odds and thanks in part to Sseko’s incredible program. I created four videos and an exorbitant amount of photos from the trip for their marketing efforts. Two films spotlight two of the incredible women who have completed the Sseko program. The other two serve as a recap for the trip and a marketing tool for recruiting more direct salespeople or “fellows”.
I’ve also partnered with Sseko on the product side — having photographed their Fall/Winter 2019 catalog.
